About RetroPrice
RetroPrice is an independent retro game price guide covering every major console generation from the NES to the PS5 era, in both NTSC (US) and PAL (EU) regions.
Why we built it
Retro game values move fast and the numbers are scattered across auction sites, forums and paywalled guides. RetroPrice pulls them into one place: a searchable catalogue with real box art, release details and separate values for loose, complete-in-box and sealed copies — for both US and European releases, which most guides ignore.
Where the data comes from
- Sold prices. Our price bot scans public completed-sale data every night and records the last sold price plus a rolling average for each condition.
- Price history. We keep 12 months of monthly points per game, region and condition so you can see the trend instead of a single snapshot.
- Game metadata. Release year, developer, publisher, genre and player count come from open data sources and are checked against release lists for each region.
- Live deals. The Pro deal finder queries current marketplace listings on demand and filters out manuals, empty boxes, reproductions and bundles.
Editorial standards
Prices are estimates, never appraisals. When data is thin for a title we say so rather than invent a number. We do not accept payment to change a listed value, and affiliate or advertising revenue never influences the prices shown.
How we fund the site
RetroPrice is free to browse. It is funded by advertising and by the optional RetroPrice Pro subscription, which unlocks the deal finder, collection analytics and the collector leaderboard.
